When we aproach on Bible / to study it,
always we have to take in consideration a few things regarding Jehovah
1. His "way" of speaking is by "concealing" or "hidding" the truth/understanding of a thing
Proverbs 25
2. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
2. He is spoking in various "ways" (may be two or more ways regarding the same thing/action)
Job 33
14. For God speaketh once, Yea twice, though man regardeth it not. ASV
14. For God does speak—now one way, now another—
though man may not perceive it. NIV
Now, regarding Jehovah it is written
1Kings 8
27 But will God in very deed dwell on the earth?
behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee;
how much less this house that I have builded!
now , we, humans are speaking the human languages which can describe human/earthly actions
so, how could GOD's actions be described using human/earthly words ?
and though , GOD used human words to describe HIS undescribable actions ...
it is written
Jeremiah 23
24. Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah.
Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah.
we can understand that JEHOVAH is doing his actions through HIS Spirit ,
the Spirit is That One who represint HIM throughout the universe
so, the answer :
HE was "walking through the garden in the cool of the day" through His Spirit
(exactly as He was doing in the days of earth's creation )

Hi Marty,
I believe along the lines of Rus's post that as JHVH had used the Holy Spirit as His active force to create the earth & all on it, as recorded in Genesis 1;2, He would probably use the same spirit to talk with Adam.
It is my view that it would be by means of this same active force, the "Holy Spirit," that He, God, would communicate with Adam in Eden.
It is also possible that God may have used the "Word" to communicate with Adam.
I am being simplistic in my comment.
Christian love,

thanks for your input.i am in agreement that jehovah was down in the garden by means of his spirit.the reason i posted this is because a church i occasionly attend believes jehovah walked in the garden.they also believe jehovah will literaly and physically be with man in the new world.i like to attend their church because they believe in jehovah as father and jesus as his son,no hellfire or immortal soul either.their main flaw though is that they dont believe jesus had a prehuman existance.they are independant but recive their pastors from the atlanta bible college which is affaliated with anthony buzzard. |

Marty,
thanks for that info. I remember you saying something about that on the other forum some time ago.
I am doing a lot of heavy thinking as a result of a lot of research I'm presently doing. I'll let you know in a little while what I've found out, after I get it sorted in my head that is.
It's very interesting what some churches/groups believe.
