Hi Joyful,

Some of the imagery in Revelation comes from the Old Testament. In this case it may come from things used in the Temple, see- 1Kings 7:23-35; 2 Kings 16:17; 2 chronicles 4:2,4,15,39; Jeremiah 27:19; Ezekiel 1:22; Exodus 24:10.
