Isaiah 14:12 - How you are fallen from heaven, day-star, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low! -- World English.
How hast thou fallen from the heavens, O shining one, son of the dawn! Thou hast been cut down to earth, O weakener of nations. -- Young's Literal.
Young does give the literal meaning of the Hebrew in Isaiah 14:12.
Satan is not actually called the "morning star", but in the Hebrew is called "son of the dawn", or the son of day-light, a shining one. The Hebrew word for "shining" is translated in many translations as "star."
From the context and other scriptures, we conclude that Isaiah 14:12 describes Satan as he would like to be viewed by others, that is, as a messenger of light. -- 2 Corinthians 11:14.
This is expressed in the next verse:
You said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; and I will sit on the mountain of congregation, in the uttermost parts of the north; -- Isaiah 14:13.
It is from this self-exalted position that Isaiah 14:12 describes Satan as being "cut down".
Revelation 2:26 He who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him will I give authority over the nations.
Revelation 2:27 He will rule them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots; as I also have received of my Father:
Revelation 2:28 and I will give him the morning star.
In Revelation 2:28, Jesus is evidently referring to himself as the "morning star." (Revelation 22:16) Since Jesus is speaking to those who belong to him, they already had him as their savior, and their priest, so Jesus is evidently referring their being given the "morning star" in some special way. Jesus is the "sun of righteousness," the morning star (shining one) who appears admidst the dark clouds. Their being given Jesus as the "morning star" is connected with their becoming "overcomers". (Revelation 2:26) This probably refers to their being raised first in the first resurrection, early in the time when Jesus first returns as the "sun of righteousness" (Malachi 4:2) on or in the cloud(s) that would obscure him from the world in general. (Daniel 7:13; Revelation 1:7; 14:14,15,16) In the resurrection morn, Jesus, as the "morning star" calls them forth from death as joint-heirs with him. It would further appear that by becoming joint-heirs with Christ, they also become members of that "morning star", who are to not only to rule with Christ, but are to rule as "joint-heirs" with Christ.
In the love of Yahweh and Jesus,
