First thought:
Actions speak louder than words. The good Samaritan never uttered a word, yet Jesus said do what the good Samaritan did.
2nd thought:
Jesus said the Samaritan religion was wrong & the Jewish religion was right, yet Jesus said for people to be like the good Samaritan who did right rather than be like any Jews who didn't.
3rd thought
Jesus laid down his life for his friends who fully obey him but will condemn his enemies who disobey him
Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Joh 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Luk 19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
4th thought
Jesus told us to treat others how we wish to be treated .... by God! eg don't judge others if you don't want God judging you
5th thought:
Jesus said if a loved person has wronged you, don't stew on it & get resentful, but instead talk to them privately about it so they have an opportunity to consider how their behaviour hurt you & they can apologize & you can forgive them & the relationship can be healed. If they choose to not remedy the situation, you can involve others but know where you stand and can walk away cleanly.
Mt 18.15
Lk 17.3
6th thought
Jesus came to bring sinners to repentance
1)Psalm 62:8
Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. _________________ YHWH is my God and Jesus is my Lord |
