Ephesians 5
1 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a] 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said:
“Wake up, sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For believers that have picked up the habit of cussing, turn to Jesus to help you not to cuss anymore.
I had picked up that habit of cussing when I was a manager out at the warehouse. I did it when nobody was around to let off some steam.
One day, I came across the religious pamphlet from Bill Rudge Ministry that used scripture to convict me of the words of my mouth, but on the back of the pamphlet, it led me to make a covenant with my mouth, and so I did. I made a covenant with my mouth not to cuss.
The very next day, I was worse than I ever was before. I was getting thoughts of "You are not His! If you were His, He would have helped you keep your covenant!" I had stopped listeming to the devil, but I did prayed, asking the Lord as to why He was not helping me because He knew I did not want to do this anymore.
In a small still voice: not audible, but I heard Him: He said: "You made the covenant. You said you were going to do it. I made the Covenant and I said I am going to do it. All I ask from you is to believe in Me."
I was humbled that day. He had set me free from that futility of the flesh of trying to make myself good by the deeds of the law by trusting Him at His word that He will help me not to cuss: that cussing will no longer have dominion over my life.
I cannot say that I have never cussed since then: but its dominion over me has been broken as I continually rely on Jesus Christ to help me not to cuss, and when I do slip: He helps me not to continue cussing. He redirects my thoughts to better things so that the devil cannot continue to use my anger to sin. Indeed, He leads me to forgive them and to keep on forgiving them as He did so while suffering on the cross for my sins before His tormentors.
So may every believer see my hope in Jesus Christ for living the christian life as He is within me and thus with me always to help me live as His and to follow Him. Truly, I cannot be His friend unless I trust Him be my Friend to help me be His friend, and I am not ashamed of my need of Him to take me by my right hand to help me follow Him and to make me sit down at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb for I am the work of His hands. _________________ A divided hope ceases to be that singular hope. Let nothing divide your hope in Jesus Christ.
