Whew!!!! Thought I'd NEVER get to introduce myself, (he he he).
Howdy folks. My name is Mike. I use the initials of my name; MEC.
I love God and His Son. Christian? I don't really know if I even LIKE this name so my anwer would have to be NO. But don't hold that against me. I do KNOW and LOVE God and HIs Son so it ain't as bad as it SOUNDS.
I have been a 'studier' of The Word for well over ten years now. I was able to devote OVER a solid year to nothing but 'Bible study and prayer' and for this I was given MUCH understanding of God's will towards us, (not bragging, just stating the TRUTH as it IS).
I am 48 years old, married with children, (fortunately they are grown now; he he he). One lives here in Orlando about two miles away, (married with two children), and the other is in Oregon attending a Bible College. Been in Orland since 1973.
I was raised as a 'military brat', (or at least that is what everyone stateside called me), and traveled extensively overseas up until the age of 12.
So, I hope that this is ENOUGH of an introduction and hope that we will be able to bring about much edification to each other for the sake of the Glory of God and His Son.
I know you are not very fond of mainstream church, how do you feel about your son attending Bible college? Dont they educate them according to trinitarian concept?

I have encouraged him to 'think OUTSIDE the box'. We have discussed many issues and I have encouraged him to LEARN what they teach in order to gain what they have to offer. But I have also warned him, (sufficiently I hope), to beware of teachings that are 'man-made', and while avoiding ARGUING against such, to simply agree for the sake of gaining what it is that he seeks, (a diploma). NOT to indicate that I have encouraged him in ANY WAY to be decietful, simply not to 'rock the boat' if he intends to 'make his grades'.
I neither encouraged nor discouraged his choice in attending. He is an individual completely responsible for his OWN choices. I am able to offer sound advice and then trust that his decisions are what is RIGHT for HIM.
Unlike myself, he was never granted the opportunity to study the Word as I was. So, in this respect, it's a GOOD thing that he is in an evironment that will ENCOURAGE such study. Hopefully he will be able to discern what THEY teach that is contrary to The Word, (and he STILL has ME; he he he).
No, I am quite proud of his decision. Of all the things that he could be doing, he is in the process of 'getting it together for what I hope is 'the good' instead of what could be 'much worse'.
Does he understand your position? I have three grown children. They are studying the Bible themselves, and no one is accepting mainstream churches. They understand how hypocritical mainstream is with practices and doctrines.

While he certainly understands MY position, I have yet to figure his out.
I know that he WANTS to 'serve God', I am just not sure to 'what capacity'. I don't know if HE even KNOWS yet. But I trust in God to lead him in the proper direction.
As I noted before, I have pointed him AWAY from any PARTICULAR denomination. Not through simply TELLING him so, but by pointing out the falacy involved with EACH denomination.
I have encouraged him to trust in GOD through The Word and READ it as it is OFFERED and NOT as others would have him BELIEVE in THEIR teachings, (including my own). For his relationship is HIS and it is HIS responsibility to develope it between HIMSELF and God through His Son.
The problem with Bible College is that they lead them to their own ways and not necessary God's way. It is much better to read the Bible himself rather than being manipulated by mainstream way, IMHO.
